Arrival instructions and event information

Welcome to enjoy the world’s best synchronized skating at the Helsinki Ice Hall! The World Synchronized Skating Championships will be held at the Helsinki Ice Hall on April 4-5.2025.

The event is sold out, so please make sure to arrive on time. There will be security checks at the entrance, so please be patient while queuing. We recommend using public transport, as there is only a limited number of parking spaces available at the ice hall. 

DOORS:
The A-door will open 15 minutes before the start of the practice sessions. All A and D doors will open on Friday and Saturday 1.5 hours before the official event begins. You can check the schedules here: Schedule – ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2025.

A-doors are located on the Nordenskiöldinkatu side.
D-doors are on the Pohjoinen Stadiontie side, near the large parking lot.
The VIP entrance is also on the D-side: when looking at the ice hall from the parking lot, the VIP entrance is at the left corner of the building (on the left side of the large D-doors).
The accessible entrance to the E-seating is located on the Nordenskiöldinkatu side: when looking at the arena from Nordenskiöldinkatu, the entrance is on the left side of the arena. The accessible entrance to the F-seating is through the A doors, where you will be directed to the C corridor elevators, which will take you up to your seats.

Please note that bringing your own food or drinks is not allowed.

RESTAURANT SERVICES:
Red Events Restaurants is responsible for the varied food and beverage offerings at the ice hall. All stalls will open 1.5 hours before the official competition event begins, with exceptions for the Shawarma stall at the A-corrido and the Self-Service booth at the C-corridos. The Shawarma stall will open for all practices, and the self-service booth is open 24/7. EXHIBITORS SPACES:

FAN STAGE:
If you want to show your support for the competing teams, you can leave your gifts in the gift bags next to the Fan Stage at the A-corridor. Please note that throwing anything onto the ice is prohibited.
The Fan Stage will feature interesting interviews with athletes and their teams. Be sure to check out the most exciting comments and hottest speculations. Don’t rush after the competition, as the small medals will be awarded at the Fan Stage in front of the audience. You will also hear fresh comments from the captains of the top teams about the competition. 

OPENING CEREMONY:
On Friday, the opening show will be incredible. The opening ceremony will bring nearly 150 athletes and professionals from across Finland to the ice. The main theme is to celebrate 40 years of synchronized skating in Finland. The show will honor the best qualities of synchronized skating: love and unity. We hope that the spark ignites a fire that we will feel even 40 years from now.
The opening ceremony will feature not only stunning skating but also a Flame-Throwing Show, aerial acrobats from Sorin Circus, and dancers from Dance Studio Fokus. See you at 16:30! 

During the ice resurfacing breaks, there will be exciting entertainment and energizing music to get you in the competition spirit! Additionally, interviews, raffles, and surprises will take place inside the ice hall. 

OFFICIAL PRACTICES:
You can watch the Friday and Saturday practices with your event tickets without additional charges. Practices will be watched in non-numbered seats in the areas indicated by the security staff, and you will move to your assigned seats after the practice sessions. If you need to step outside the ice hall on Friday or Saturday, remember to scan your ticket at the A-door to re-enter later. 

THURSDAY SCHEDULE:
Tickets are still available for the official practice sessions on Thursday, April 3. The tickets are non-numbered. The A-door at the front of the ice hall will open at 9:15, and the official practice sessions will start at 9:30. 

FRIDAY SCHEDULE:
Practices will start at 10:30, and one A-door will open for practices at 10:15. All A doors, D doors, and the VIP entrance will open at 15:00. The VIP area will open for Event Lounge VIP ticket holders at 15:30. The accessible entrance will open at 15:30. The official World Championship event will begin with the opening ceremony at 16:30, followed by the Short program competition from 17:30 to 20:30.

SATURDAY SCHEDULE:
Practices will start at 9:00, and one A-door will open for practices at 8:45. All A doors, D doors, and the VIP entrance will open at 14:30. The VIP area will open for Event Lounge VIP ticket holders at 15:00. The accessible entrance will open at 15:00. The Free program competition will start at 16:00 and end around 19:30, after which the new World Champion will be crowned in the award ceremony!
